I recently attended a a Women's Retreat. Each person attending hand appliqued a quilt square during the retreat.
This is the quilt on the last day of the retreat. Isn't it beautiful!!!!
The inspiration for the quilt came from Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who attended Stampin' Up!'s convention a few years ago were each given a quilt square that made by Stampin' Up! employees. What a memorable gift! It's just one example of how wonderful it is to be a part of the Stampin' Up! family.
While planning the retreat, I brought in the square to the planning committe and we decided to use it as the inspiration for our quilt project. The squares are made of muslin. The appliqued parts were made from scraps, and Stampin' Up!s Big Shot and Five Pointed Star die cut.
It was interesting to see the completed squares and how each individual quilt squares, when sewn together became a beautiful quilt. As a looked at it, I realized it was very much like the friends and acquantances in my life. Each person is unique, and we all bring our talents and life experiences together, complementing each other wonderfully.
Enjoy, all you 'quilt squares' out there!
