Christmas Slider Easel Card

 

While at Stampin' Up!s convention, I presented a project at my uplines demonstrator gathering.  I liked this card so much, we made it at our Stamp Club meeting too.

Card Directions

For this card, you will need the following:

Stamps:

• Snow Much Fufn

Ink:

• Cherry Cobbler Classic Stamp Pad
• Soft Suede Classic Stamp Pad
• Basic Black Marker

Paper:

Cherry Cobbler Card Stock

• One 4.25 x 5.5 for backing
• One 3.75 x 4 for snowman backing
• One 1.25 x 4 for belly band layer

Always Artichoke Card Stock

• One 4.5.25 for base card layer
• One 3.75 x 4 for Easel
• One 1.5 x 11 for Belly Band
• One 1 x 2.5 for the slider attachment

Soft Suede Card Stock

• One 3.5 x 3.5 for layer under the snowman

Very Vanilla Card Stock

• One 3.5 x 3.5 for scalloped edge Snowman image
• One 3.75 x 3.75 for inside sentiment
• One 1 x 2.75 for "Christmas Wishes"

• 1 3/8 Circle

Step 1:  Attach Always Artichoke backing layer to Cherry Cobble backing.

Step 2:  Stamp and attach the inside sentiment to backing layer.

Step 3:  Cut Whisper White scallop square using the Scallop Square Duo Die -- the largest scallop square of the two. Stamp snowman and color using ink pads and Blender Pen.

Step 4:  Attach Sticky Strip tape to edges of Soft Suede square.  Attach glitter.

Step 5:  On Cherry Cobbler (3.75 x 4 square), score  at 3.75.  Attach glittered square to 3.75 x 4 card stock above the scored line.  Use dimensionals to attach the scallop snowman image to the glittered square.  Apply Sticky Strip tape below the scored lineon the remainng .25.  Crease on score line. 

Step 6:  Score the Always Artichoke Belly Band at 3 and 7 3/8.   Cut a 1/2 circle using the 1 3/8 circle punch, on the center edge of the belly band. Decorate Belly Band. Fold and attach band to itself.  Slip belly band onto the card backing.  Attach the 3.75 x 4 card stock to the belly band underneath the front of the belly band.

Step 7:  Score Always Artichoke 1 x 2.5 slider attachment card stock at .5 from each end.  Fold card stock in accordian fashion (looks like a 'z'. Apply sticky strip to the top of the scored easel card stock just above the score line.  Attach the sticky strip end of the 'z' to the back of the snowman layed image about .5" from the top edge, centered. Flatten out the 'z' shaped card stock.  Apply Sticky Strip to the bottom .5" segment on the opposite side from where the other sticky strip was placed -- it will be attached to the backing. 

Step 8:  Insert the belly bank onto the backing.  Position belly band and snowman layered image so that it is centered onto the card.  Attach the straighted 'z' card stock to the layered backing.

Step 9:  Push the belly band towards the top edge of the card.  The snowman image should 'pop up' like an easel.

WOW!  That's a lot of instructions!  I hope they make sense.  If not, let me know.

 The day after Thanksgiving is the day I start making my Christmas Cards.  I have a few ideas, and here's one of them.

Santa Box

Here's a cute little Santa for you.  We made this box and filled it with Christmas tags at our Stamp Club meeting last week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here are the peices you will need to make the Santa.

Do you like punches as much as I do?  I love using them to make unusual shapes.

Here is a tree made by using a scallop circle punch. 

To make the tree, cut the scallop circle in 1/2.  From one of the 1/2's, cut after the second scallop to the center of the scallop.  From the other 1/2 of the scallop, cut after the third scallop to the center of the scallop.  You should have four cut pieces - one with two scallops, one with three scallops one with four scallops and one with five scallops.  Layer one on top of the other and glue!

Make a 3D ornament and attach it to a card for an extra special effect.  I made the ornament cutting out three ornament using the ornament punch.

A Gift for You

Can you believe it is time to start thinking about Christmas already?? It really is time to start working on those handmade gifts and cards.

A few weeks ago, a demonstrator shared an idea with me.  Her name is Heather and you will see some of her creations in my 10 weeks of Christmas Program.  Each week I will include a photo of a project, step-by-step instructions to create it, and a list of all of the "ingredients" needed. Christmas Card

This week’s project is a beautiful card.  I like the design because it uses a stamp in an unusual way.  The stamp used for the leaves and berries is actually a flower stamp.

Instructions:

1. The card base is standard size - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", folded to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The Real Red Layer is 4" x 5 1/4" and the Whisper White layer is 3 3/4" x 5".
2. Color two petals and the center spots on the flower stamp using the Stampin' Write Markers. "Huff" on the colored stamp to make sure the ink is moist before stamping on the Whisper White layer. Repeat to cover cardstock.
3. Ink up the swirl stamp from the Baroque Motifs set with the VersaMark Ink Pad and stamp the Whisper White cardstock. Re-ink before each stamp
4. Quickly cover VersaMark with Clear Embossing Powder. Tap off extra powder and heat with Heat Gun until the powder melts and turns shiny.
5. Attach the Whisper White to the Real Red layer then punch 1/8" holes using the Crop-a-dile or handheld circle punch in each of the corners. Set the Real Red eyelets in each corner using the Crop-a-dile or Crafter's Tool Kit
6. Cut sentiment layers - Whisper White to 5/8" x 1 3/4" and Green Galore to 7/8" x 2 1/4"
7. Stamp "Merry Christmas" on white cardstock with Versamark and emboss with Black Embossing Powder.
8. Attach the white to the green layer, aligning the white to the left side. Punch the double circle punch and tie a piece of Red Gingham Ribbon through holes. Attach to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Snowflake Card
Here’s a simple, and elegant Holiday card – perfect for making one for everyone you know!  And, receive 10% off any of the items used to make this card. See the coupon at the end of this message for more details.

• The card base is standard size - 8 ½ x 5 ½” folded to 4 ¼ x 5 ½”. Use Whisper White for the base.
• Cut a piece of Bashful Blue; 4 x 5 ¼”. Layer on top of card base.
• Cut a piece of Shimmery White; 3 ¾ x 5”.  Using the Shimmery White adds a subtle glisten to your card.  Layer on top of Bashful Blue.
• Cut a piece of scrap paper to 3 ¾ x 5".  Cut an oval reverse mask from the scrap paper using the Coluzzle Cutting System in the location where you want your oval on the card. 
• Line up the scrap paper on top of the Shimmery White piece and sponge Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue ink into the oval opening until you get the level of coverage you want.
• Stamp snowflakes in Certainly Celery, and Bashful Blue through the mask.
• Remove mask and stamp a snowflake in Bashful Blue overlapping the sponged oval.
• Stamp sentiment in lower right corner in Bashful Blue.

Contemporary Christmas Card
Here’s a simple, contemporary holiday card.   Receive 10% off any of the items used to make this card. See the coupon at the end of this message for more details.

• The card base is standard size - 8 ½ x 5 ½” folded to 4 ¼ x 5 ½”. Use Green Galore for the base.  Use the corner rounder punch to cut the top left and lower right corner of the card.
• Cut a piece of Basic Black; 4 x 5 ¼”. Layer on top of card base.  Use the corner rounder punch to cut the top left and lower right corner of the card.
• Cut a piece of White; 3 ¾ x 5”. 
• Using Black ink pad, stamp the center of the flower and petals.  Add an extra layer for a little more petals if you like.  Use the corner rounder punch to cut the top left and lower right corner of the card stock.
• Stamp “Be Merry” in the right hand corner.
• Color flower center using a paint brush, water, and a little ink from Summer Sun ink pad.
• Color petals using a paint brush and Purely Pomegranate ink.
• Layer on top of the black. 
• Add a little glue from 2 way glue pen, and then add a little Dazzling Diamond Glitter.
